Directory of Maternity Hospitals in the Philippines

Imagine: you are just a few months away from your due date, but you still have a long list of things to prepare and consider as an expectant mother in the middle of a pandemic. Apart from sterilizing and disinfecting all baby things, giving birth also requires you to look into potential hospitals that are ideal for labor and delivery, in consideration of the safety measurements and protocols. It may take you days to run through every maternity hospital available in the country. And so ahead, we’ve summed up a few known establishments to help make planning easier.

What You Need to Know Before Choosing a Maternity Hospital

Before the pandemic even turned things around for most people, there were already a couple of things that should be taken into consideration in the childbirth department.

Facilities, accommodation, and even the proximity of the location of the hospital to home were all regarded by both the mother and the father. But, things are a little more complicated than just that nowadays.

The COVID-19 pandemic has switched things up providing more anxiety to the soon-to-be parents. Questions such as “Is it safe to deliver the baby in a maternity hospital?”, “Will the child and the mother get infected with the virus?”, “What are other means to deliver the baby without going out of the house and being exposed to people?” are often asked around during these trying times.

Apart from planning your hospital bag and all other usual things mentioned above, it is still as important to consult your OB-GYN and healthcare provider in the process. Discussing the best approach going forward would be helpful in coming up with a birth plan and choosing a suitable maternity hospital for you.
